Freelance Director and DP living between Paris & Reykjavik, I am driven by the need to tell stories and, to quote, the desire to make the real world look as good as cinema.
During the last 10 years, I have been working in Europe, Asia, Africa, Pacific, North and South America and directed more than a dozen feature length documentaries for french TV channels such as ARTE, CANAL +, FRANCE 2, FRANCE 5, M6 and TF1.
After a post grad degree in Sociology at the Sorbonne, I dedicated my interests to scientific and educational sociology. But my passion for documentary led me somewhere else... my first professional experience was as a sound engineer on a prime time French documentary. A international documentary series soon followed taking me around the globe from Japan to China, Vanuatu, Benin, Alaska... From this moment on my sights were firmly fixed on becoming a documentary director.
Entirely self taught and curious to discover how images are made, I became an assistant editor, assistant director and cameraman. Institutional films, short films and music videos allowed me to home my skills until I was commissioned in 2009 as a DP on a series of reportage films. From that moment my directing career swiftly followed as I signed numerous stand alone films dealing with social and environmental subjects.
In 2016 I wrote and directed "Cirque Hors Piste", a poetic film documenting contemporary circus arts. The film went on to win the Culture Prize at the French Television and Radio awards.
I'm currently preparing an expedition to the great Canadian North for the Franco-German channel, Arte, and I'm developing my first feature documentary in French Guyana.
